Here is information that is posted on the Remind Webpage for people who use Rogers or one of their subsidiaries. Please ensure you have set up your phone so that you will continue to receive information from me through the Remind App.
What's happeningStarting Monday, January 28, educators, students, and parents will no longer receive Remind text messages if they have wireless plans with Rogers or any of its subsidiaries.
Remind messages aren’t spam, but that hasn’t helped us resolve the issue with Rogers. Their fee increases our cost of supporting SMS in Canada to at least 25X our current cost—forcing us to end Remind text messaging for everyone on the Rogers network. What you can doIMPORTANT: If you have a phone plan with Rogers or any of its subsidiaries, click here first to make sure you can still receive Remind messages on the app or by email. We need your help to make sure Canadian educators, students, and parents continue to have access to effective communication. Keep reading for simple ways to contact Rogers and ask them to #ReverseTheFee. In effect on January 28, 2019. Because of new SMS fees imposed by Rogers Canada, Remind can no longer offer text messaging for devices on the Rogers network, including the following subsidiaries: Rogers subsidiaries
How to continue receiving messages on RemindIf you have a wireless plan with an unsupported carrier and currently only receive Remind messages by text, you can avoid disrupting your Remind service by enabling notifications on your smartphone or computer. If your Remind class participants receive text messages on an unsupported wireless network, make sure they don’t miss any of your messages by asking them to enable notifications with one of the options below. On your phone: Turn on smartphone app notifications (RECOMMENDED)Download the free Remind app on the iOS App Store, on Google Play, or at rmd.me/a. If you don’t already have a Remind account, create one using the phone number where you receive Remind texts. Make sure to enable push notifications from Remind on your phone. On your computer: Turn on email notifications or log in to your account onlineGo to Remind.com on any computer. As above, if you don’t already have a Remind account, create one using the phone number where you receive Remind texts. We recommend turning on email notifications for your account so you don’t miss any messages. I am excited to share that on Tuesday February 12th, we will be going to the Mill of Kintail (http://mvc.on.ca/) for a day of outdoor education! We will need volunteers to help us out during the day. I ask that if you are able to volunteer to please write me a note in your child's communication book. Just as a reminder you will need your police record check so please get that in asap. We will have space on the bus for volunteers.
As well you must fill out the field trip form that was sent home in your child's mailbag today and return it by next Thursday. Thank you in advance! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I will send out more information as to what your child will need closer to the date of the trip. We will be going sledding tomorrow so if required please send in your child's helmet. Yesterday I also sent home the Scholastic order which is due on Friday. Thank you to those who indicated which items your child has permission to eat. If you have not please do so. Lastly our word wall words for this week are; where, went, saw, all
